The northeast heights are a good part of town, but pricey.
There are some nice neighborhoods on the west side too.
Once you get there to look at houses, you'll quickly see which neighborhoods to keep on driving through. Bars in the windows are a good sign to stay away.
You need to ride the tram at least once. Check out Downtown Santa Fe, Old Town Albuquerque, Petroglyphs, Taos.
