Windows 10 mail app enable sound on incoming message?

The mail app in Windows 8.1 played an audible alert upon receipt of a new message. It's enabled in the app's account settings, and the sound is chose in Control Panel > Sound. Worked great in 8.1.

I can't see how to turn it on in the same mail app in Windows 10. Still have the sound selections in Control Panel, but nothing in the mail account settings seems to activate the sound.

Searching the Microsoft website and forums provided no clue. Anyone?

When I open the mail app, click settings, then options, I scroll down to the very bottom where Notifications are. By default mine was set to "on" but underneath that is the ability to click "show a notification banner" or "play a sound". Do you not see this? If you don't, that's strange. And if that's the case, have you restarted your computer lately? Microsoft released a big update to Win 10 and so you may need to restart to get it to take effect. It doesn't prompt you to restart (mine didn't anyway) but I turn my computer off at night anyway so it would've gotten a reboot from that.
