Yahoo Mail app in Windows 8.1 no longer working?
I recently downloaded the Yahoo Mail app for Windows 8 from the MS App Store for Windows 8.1 and was able to set it up to access my emails on a new ASUS tablet for approximately 1 week. Out of the blue, the "An unknown error occurred. Please check your internet connection and try again." error message kept popping up and forced me to change my password. Even though I changed my password successfully and I am able to access my emails for the problematic Yahoo email address using a browser, the same error message keeps popping up every time I attempt to access my emails using the Yahoo Mail app for 1 specific Yahoo email address (ie, I don't have any issues accessing my emails for a 2nd Yahoo email address I also have via the Yahoo Mail app). I have uninstalled then rebooted and reinstalled the Yahoo Mail app countless of times on the ASUS tablet ... but in vain. I have cleared caches, deleted browsing & other history... but in vain. I have also used another notebook and downloaded the Yahoo Mail app on it before attempting to log on using the problematic Yahoo email address ... but also in vain. I have also tried the Mail app to connect to my Yahoo email address... but also in vain. My Windows phone is now unable to connect/access the problematic Yahoo email address even though it worked fine before. Its as if Yahoo has tagged 1 specific Yahoo email address as suspect and barred it from being accessible via any/all mobile devices.
What can I please do to resolve this issue?

For everyone's benefit, I came across the following while searching through the Yahoo Answers site:
1. Page listing Topic, Subtopic and Recommendations for Yahoo Mail app on Windows 8:
https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?page=conta...
2. Page confirming Yahoo is aware there is a problem using the Yahoo Mail app on Windows mobile devices:
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SL...
I guess that the best thing is to bookmark the above URL's and check from time to time.
Another alternative I have found while scouting through the site is to try to contact Yahoo Customer Care by:
1. Phone:
- Call toll-free at 1-800-318-0612 if you’re in the U.S. or Canada.
- If you’re not in the U.S. or Canada, call toll number at 1-408-916-2100
2. Live chat:
- There are apparently ways to get hold of Yahoo Customer Care personnel via live chat but I couldn't find any means of doing so.
If anyone out there comes up with a way to resolve this issue, it would be much appreciated if the solution could be posted.

I had the same problem and I just managed to solve it after being able to use the yahoo mail on my nokia lumia for a week: check if you have the linkedin app installed on your phone. If so uninstall it, then switch off the phone, turn it on, unistall yahoo mail app, then switch off the phone, switch on again and reinstall yahoo mail (simply add your account in settings/mail acounts, non eed to download any app for this). It worked for me.

You'll need to use a web browser or POP/IMAP mail client to access Yahoo Mail.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. The only way to reset your windows password 100% safe is to use a software called Reset Password Pro.
The software allows you to create a boot-disk, that can be made on a CD/DVD or USB stick. The boot-disk can then be inserted into any locked machine, and it's a simple case of pressing reset. Here is their official site: http://www.resetwindowspass.com/
