I m 19 and Hispanic. I still get treated like I m 10 years old when it comes to mostly anything (mostly depends on my dad s mood) but some of my friends (16-17 and white) already have a lot of tattoos and piercings and literally do whatever they want and get away with it.

Heritage customs and traditions family values and pride in your self are measured in different ways, in some cases ethnicity plays a roll that is hard to dismiss. Being white or none white is incidental well off educated people are located in each ethnicity and their children are prohibited for abusing their bodies you parent seems more educated than your friends parents so you are being held to a higher standard. It has more to do with less supervision and parental control than white kids getting away with it. I am sure 80% if not more white families prohibit their children from getting tattoos like 80% or more Hispanic families doing the identical thing. Try to appreciate your family-and be thankful your dad is an up right dude. Just love him he is looking out for you. I could not get a tattoo either and i am glad now I was not allowed then.
