i think it depends on your genetics. mine is kind of dry, but if i suck on it for a while it melts to a chewy texture. same as the stuff in my belly button.

I am not cursed with excessive earwax. Once a ball of it rolled out of my ear canal and onto the floor, and then my balled earwax rolled out of the door.
