Why is ear wax chewy?

The way the molecule is shaped allows it to stick to each other in clumps, which maker ear wax or any sort of lipid have the consistency that it does.

i think it depends on your genetics. mine is kind of dry, but if i suck on it for a while it melts to a chewy texture. same as the stuff in my belly button.
