Why do so many people think it's okay to pay their nannies off the books?

Is it because the GOP has cut the IRS so they're not worried about getting caught?

How come people don't get mad about tax cheats they way they get made about welfare scammers? There seem to be a lot of people that steal from the gov't by avoiding taxes.

Are you saying that if you want to hire help, you have to be willing to take on the responsibility of Tax Collector for the Government? If that's the case, perhaps the IRS could get by with a Few Thousand less employees?

Or are you saying that workers can't be trusted to pay their own taxes?
Because EVERYONE, will avoid paying taxes if they possibly can? Even Poor People?

When the Rich avoid taxes, legally, they are evil. When the poor avoid taxes, illegally, it's the employer's fault.

Predictable

People pay nannies off the books because then they don't have to pay employer tax. Which is illegal. The reason people get mad about welfare scammers instead of tax cheats is because 'the people' who speak the loudest are Republicans. Republicans consist primarily of greedy extreme capitalists who group together for protection against paying any taxes whatsoever. And, because they control Congress, they ensure policies which protect them further, while resenting the little money going to women with children living in poverty. They want that money to go to them instead. And, unless We The People rise up, show up to vote Rs out of office, this downhill direction will continue to destroy US.

Republicans are just really LOUD about all this hate for the "welfare cheats" - because they have a constant flood of new lies written for them by FOX FAKE "News" and Lush Limbo.

So the republicans can easily parrot these lies and get a lot of the ink. Obviously most of us don't have nannies or other illegal employees.

taxes are unconstitutional. We did not have a federal income tax until 1913. Where in the constitution dos it say we need to pay income tax? I voted Ron Paul i 2012 partly because he was going to end taxation

If the nannies are off the books, shouldn`t their wages be?
