Is it alright to leave my cat in basement for several days?

We just moved, and have 2 cats. One of them live in my room with me; however, my room is too hot, has no fan and is not painted yet, so I put the cat in the basement. Food, water, liter, a little cat toy which she jumps into and lays in, along with a whole floor of space, with another room and the bathroom open. Empty floor space but it is ample space for one cat to walk around. There are also several windows she can look out of. I check on her multiple times a day; once in the morning, a few times in the afternoon, once at night and once before bed. It's been a couple of days. She seems to be alright but cries and meows whenever I come and see her. The basement is a lot cooler, and has good space, and she will be down there for probably a week total, until my room is done. Other cat stays in mom's room, but she's fine. It rains and thunders, and there's lightning tonight, so I am wondering, overall, is my cat alright down there? It is very quiet, she can hear upstairs, and I spend about 45 minutes to an hour or two with her per day. This is fine for a while, right? At least until furniture is moved in and stuff.

She is lonely but okay. Try to spend more time with her petting, holding, speaking softly to her, and playing with her. This would be a good time for a small ball to be added to the cellar. If you don't have one, crumple some aluminum foil into a ball. Roll it for her. She will enjoy batting it around.

If being upstairs is OK for one cat, then I don't see why the second cat has to live in the basement. Oh well, as long as she has daylight, she'll survive.

Your cat's fine, nothing bad is going to happen to it down there it seems overall a great space for most animals

That is fine. It's much better than any other options believe it or not. So no hating on this person they are actually doing the smart thing!

As long as they have a place to eat, sleep and use the litter box they should be fine.
