Is it alright to leave my cat at home unattended for more than a day?

Yes...I think in general a cat will be fine. I'd recommend leaving plenty of (dry) food and water for him/her, and making sure the litter in the box is really clean.
To a certain extent, I personally think it depends on your cat.
For example, some cats eat everything that is put in front of them. If your cat doesnt then you'll be o.k (I presume your cat is a controller eater). Also, how often does your cat need his litter box cleaned? My particular cat needs his cleaned a few times a day. In these cases, I'd recommend maybe having a near-by friend or neighbor check up on your cat.

It should be okay for a couple of days alone but if it's longer, you may want someone to check and refill the food and water bowls. If you have an automatic feeder, fill it up but if you don't, leave extra bowls in a few of your cat's favorite spots. Make sure you leave enough water bowls also. If this is the first time you have left your cat, it may suffer from seperation anxiety so try and leave it's toys around so it can keep busy. If you have a window that is accessible for it to look out of, leave the curtain or blind open so it can watch the outside world. Make sure you kitty proof your house also since some cats like to get a little mischievous and are very curious. If it looks like a string, it must be a toy....that's how my two cats are. Just make sure of your cat's safety and it should do just fine.

Yes. Cats have a litter box & don't have to be let outside, so therefore, you could leave it for a couple of days as long as it had ample food & water. It might be a good idea to have a friend or family member check in on it.

Yes, as long as she's old enough to be on her own. Just have plenty of fresh water and some food available. :). Kittens should be supervised, however. I know my first time leaving my cat behind, when she was a baby, was a scary time for me. I had class that night, and had to leave her. :(. She's almost 2 yrs now. Still, I sometimes get scared.

Luckily cats are independent. As long they clean water and food, kitty will be fine. I have left mine for the weekend, with the window cracked so he could go in and out. The neighbor "babysat" for me and made sure he stayed out of trouble.Other than being really glad to see me when I came home, he was fine. Just make sure there is ample water and food.

Yes, Cats are able to take care of themselves as long as they have plenty of food and water. I have an automatic cat feeder and watering dish because I work long hours and am very seldom home. My two babies are just fine when I return!

I leave mine for the weekend with lots of food and water and don't worry. But if I'm gone longer than that, I'll have a neighbor check on them or board them.

We have left ours for long weekends....leave Friday after work and get back Monday mid-day. This is the longest we have left him alone. Any longer and we have a neighbor stop in and check on him.
