Did i delete my files correctly?

I installed a program but didn't like it so i putted it in the recycle bin then click delete? was this the appropriate way to get my space back? I looked everywhere to see if the file still there and can't find it so..

Control panel, programs ,uninstall a program : find it there and uninstall it. dropping the short cut in the trash bin will not remove the program.
