How long should it take for Dicyclomine(Bentyl) to work?

I recently went to the Dr. for having diarrhea flare ups with no correlation on certain foods that might be causing it. I have been setup for an appointment with a local gastroenterologist but won't be able to see him till February. In the mean time my family doc perscribed my Dicyclomine to slow down my digestion. I was instructed to take 4 pills(10mg), one before every meal and one before bed. My question is, how long does this drug take to work? It's going on the second day of taking it and I'm still going 4-5 times a day. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It should start working within the hour of taking it. Some things take awhile to slow down though. You would want everything to stop suddenly. Because then you have the opposite of your current problem. That can be worse.
