Any .22 LR cartridge is fine in a tubular magazine. Whatever is on the barrel or receiver is acceptable (.22 LR, .22 Long, .22 shorts). Be extremely careful when unloading a .22 or any gun with a tubular magazine because it is very easy for a cartridge to become stuck in the tube especially if it is the least bit dirty.
We don't use tubular mag .22 in our Scout troops due to this happening.

All .22 cartridges are very safe in tubular magazines. The lead is softer than the brass case and there is not enough recoil in a .22 to set off the next shell no matter what the metals are.

Any .22LR round is safe to fire in a tubular magazine. They are rimfire and low recoil so they are not sensitive to pointed bullets in a tubular magazine causing a discharge like a centerfire rifle cartridge would be.
