I have an idea for a related book that originates from a chapter in the current book. I want to include those scenes as a flashback but not sure how. They would become the second and third chapters in the new book if I included them. Should I just not worry about them being the same and copy them or should I try to change them? It would be a monster rewrite to do and still have them similar in both books.

well, lets assume the story from a third person view point, and one chapter covers and even happening between 2 characters (lets call them jack and sally),
in the flashback, maybe you can have the view point of the flashback from one of the characters, or maybe from another character not mentioned in the first place...

That's not a flashback: that's just lazy writing.

Retell the same scene using different words. A good writer can say the same thing is many ways.

Copy and Paste. Then bear in mind if you want it in the present or past tense and adjust accordingly. There is no royal road to writing.
