Can you please help me with this pre calculus problem?

If f(x) = 3x=+8 / 2x - A and f(0) = 2 what is the Value of A?

So far I did this

f(0) = 3(0)+8 / 2(0) - A

2 = 8/-A

I KNOW the answer is A = -4 but am unsure of how to show the work since my last math class was two years ago. How do you show the work and solve for 2 = 8/-A? Do you multiply both sides of the equation by -A over 1???

2=8/-A
2A = -8
A = -4
