This guy who I'm not friends with on fb accepted my Facebook messenger request so we conversed for a few days but now when I contact him it only says sent not delivered anymore did he delete me as a contact??

Possibly either that or he has not been Online messages that get sent if they are not online at the time you send the message it wont appear as Delivered it will say Sent only

It will only say delivered if you are friends on Facebook, so unfortunately yes, he must have deleted you as a contact.
