How long to sperm live in the male body after they are manufactured?
Here's why I ask the question. If a guy gets a vasectomy, any sperm that currently exist are still in his system.
How long can those sperm live?
How long until the guy can have sex with a woman without risk of pregnancy?
Will those sperm eventually die off in 2 days? 2 weeks? 2 months? 2 years?

The vasdephrin is cut half way between his testicles and his cowpers. Only sperm downstream of the cut point can ever exit his bobdy. They can live several months.
Once the cut is made there is no natural pressure pushing them forward. It may take longer, than normal, for the remaining sperm to exit.
I had mine done in late May of 1988. I had my semen tested in late June, then about August, then again in about October . I was very careful. I am not into babies.
I was 21. To this day I am nobody's father. My wife is a lucky lady!
Just to be safe I get my "plumbing" checked every five years to make sure I am still sterile. My yearly health check includes an STD test.
after your operation you will be asked to provide two seminal fluid samples, one after two weeks and the 2 after 4 weeks.. these samples will be checked to see if there are live sperm , usually after 4 weeks all viable live sperm have gone from the male reproductive system and it is safe to have un protected sex with a clean partner. However if you are the sort of person that screws around having risky sexual partners you must continue to use protection
It's hard to know. Sperm will be made until a guy dies, but a vasectomy cuts the tube that connects where the sperm is made to the penis. After a vasectomy, it is really important to go to the follow up to make sure there are no swimmers getting through. Use protection until that follow up. I knew a guy who had two kids, had a vasectomy, didn't go back for the follow up and the wife had a set of twins.
