Go to the TV Guide and find an episode of the series you want to record.
Hit the record button once to record just that episode. Hit the record button a second time to record the whole TV series. You can go into settings for this series to tell it to record only new episodes, or all episodes even if they're reruns, and other things.
This is the easiest way to do it.
