Romney wants the same things that Trump has, like the Presidency. Romney believes that he is more entitled to those things than Trump, like the Presidency. Another one is that Trump is openly supported by a sizable percentage of the voters. Romney never had that kind of support. But, Romney does have support within the secret society of the elites who control things, and that can be used to damage Trump. An example is control of the news media. That is not to say that Trump is afraid. It is an challenge, which makes it another unnecessary division in the republican party, and a sure path to losing. So, that could be the goal of the rino Romney republicans. To lose it all just so that the conservatives don't win.
