When will Democrats in Congress finally admit that there is a real crisis at The Southern Border, and act on it?
Jeh Johnson, President Obama's former DHS Secretary stated in an interview on MSNBC on Friday, March 29 that 1000 arrests during his term overwhelmed the system. He could only imagine what 4000 arrests in a single day would do to the system. He stated and this is a direct quote, "We are truly in a crisis". Tuesday, March 26, 2019, there 4000 arrests.

My question is based on an interview Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary, (under President Obama) Jeh Johnson had on MSMBC. The words used were not mine, but his own words. So, if you are using the word liar, you are talking about an Obama Administration official, not me.

The Executive Branch has struggled for many years because it is being hamstrung by Congress.
Presidents from at least Clinton have said that better immigration laws are necessary but Congress is unwilling to help. This leaves the Executive Branch with a problem. The immigrants are illegal, as defined by Congress, but Congress does not suggest a way to solve the problem. In fact, it makes matters worse by agreeing that anyone who arrives in the US and says the right thing must not be sent back without a court hearing.
That does not happen elsewhere in the world. There is a backlog of around 900,000 cases at the moment. How long will it take to reduce that list to zero?
If I didn't know better, I would suspect that Congress benefits in some way by allowing all those people in. Could it be that those who hold sway in Congress benefit like the president of Mexico who received $100,000,000 from the cartels?
I don't think the problem is in understanding that "out of control" immigration is a problem for the US -- just the solutions, and means of dealing with immigrants ,that Trump has suggested for it
Because it is a crisis created by Trump. A large group came to the border seeking asylum and yet the Trump administration greatly reduced the number of immigration officers and staff to handle the flow. Trump wants chaos at the border because it plays into his political agenda of an 'alien invasion'.
Trump said he would close the border. Democrats don’t want to risk alienating their voters in Texas. The state trades heavily with Mexico and closing the border would affect their economy.
