I often see Christians saying that Christianity is not a religion. What makes them think this nonsense?
It's one of three Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, all of which worship the same pixie.

Religious people like to think their own religion is special or privileged or better than anyone elses. Christians tend to take it to an extreme. They may also have a nagging suspicion that religion is a load of bovine excrement and want to elevate out of that category. Of course it doesn't work.

No you don't. It's only a few nutters playing word games here who say that -- and we'll add you to that category for calling the Almighty a "pixie." How childish.
Of course Christianity is a religion.

Religion involves man trying to reach God or a better afterlife by doing good works. Religion cannot save you; only Jesus saves.
Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute. Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave (1 Cor. 15:3-4). The Bible is clear that salvation is not by our good works. The only condition for receiving everlasting life is to believe in Jesus for that free gift! It really is that simple.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

They are correct! Christianity is a RELATIONSHIP with the Lord Himself. To be born again, simply means that a person is born spiritually when the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and this is the RELATIONSHIP Christians have with the creator as we know Him on a personal level and the relationship continues to grow

If that is what you believe that is what you will see and if there is more it depends on the level of love in your heart to make it so.
