What are your opinions on college and how it financially impacts people?

I’m in highschool and have never been fond of the idea of going to college. School makes me sad. Why pay for it?

The average college graduate makes more than the average non-graduate. Part of that earnings advantage, though, has disappeared over the years due to rapidly rising college costs.

If you don't think college is right for you, that's fine. You are at the age where you need to start planning for independent adulthood. Whether or not you go to college, you do need to formulate some kind of career plan.

College isn't for everyone and it may not be for you, either. Are you planning to live at home with your parents forever? (If so, do they know that?) If not, then you need to have a plan for your life. What career are you going to pursue? How do you plan to support yourself and pay for the things you'll need or want -- a car, auto insurance and repairs, food and clothing, health insurance, the latest game system, concert tickets, a bigger TV, etc.? Start planning now while you still have your parents there as a safety net.

College is totally different than high school. College is a blast. I mean, you do realize that you're only actually in class 12 to 15 hours a week in college, don't you? That's only 2 1/2 to 3 hours a day. The rest of the time you're hanging out in the cafeteria or in the dorms or wherever with your friends, literally with thousands and thousands and thousands of people your own age. And there are no cliques like in high school. Everybody's chilling with everybody and everything's chill.
