This depends on why he's refusing to eat dinner. If he's refusing to eat because he doesn't like what you made then I'd tell him that he either eats what's on his plate or he goes hungry. However that doesn't mean purposely serve food that you know he won't eat, it means don't be a short order cook for him. If he's refusing to eat simply because he's not hungry or he stops eating because he's full then I'd just let it go because It's not worth making a battle over. Also like other answers have said, it's important to make sure that your child isn't having too many snacks between meals.

Have him sit till the rest of the family finishes. Pack his plate up and put it in the fridge. If he gets hungry later, nuke the plate till the food is warm and try again. If you are willing, perhaps a slice of toast later could be an option.

Eat yours and then eat his right in front of him. Don't gloat or say mmmm or anything, just eat very relaxed and naturally. When he's hungry enough and sees you're not trying to poison him, he'll eat.

Do nothing. The more you fuss, the more he will refuse.
