I am a Christian who has friends who are atheists, agnostics, Buddhist and Muslim.
We get along great and can even discuss religious and moral issues with out getting mad at each other.
We all agree that we all can not be right and that we realize the other persons are just as convinced they are right as ourselves.

I have a number of Atheist friends. They often don't like to discuss religion because they have been hurt in the past (usually be someone claiming to be Christian). I still do my best to evangelize to them without Bible thumping because I care about their immortal soul.

For the ones that like to argue, I use Logic and Reasoning when discussing Christianity.

Yes, friendship made with a young couple who moved in next door but one, when their dog ran away the next weekend while someone was dog-sitting. I went out searching for it, the wife returned and was cycling around looking too. The dog appeared of its own accord by evening, and that was the start of a friendship. The couple were atheists, I'm a Christian.

The wife and I would nip round for coffee and chat now and again. She was interested in religion, having done her university thesis on some Catholic group of monks, so conversation about faith was natural and never forced. And we talked about lots of other things too. The couple later moved away but I kept in email touch with the wife. We managed to meet up again this year, to go dog walking (on two occasions) and hope to meet again. Our friendship continues.

If that's a serious question I'm guessing you're American.

I'm in the UK and here that would seem a really silly question!

As it happens I'm an atheist who wears glasses and has a dog but no cats. I have friends who wear glasses and friends who don't; I have friends who have dogs, friends who have cats, friends who have both and friends who have neither. I have friends who are Christians, friends who are Jewish and friends who are atheist. I have lots of friends whose religious beliefs I know nothing about (I care even less).

None of this stuff matters or makes any difference at all.
