There is no such weapon as an assault weapon. It was a name made up by Democrats who want to take gun rights away. That is what Hitler did, and it worked for awhile.

We have said it time and time again, We were given the right to own the same firepower as the military in case if we had to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government that attempts to take our rights away, we as the citizens of America are allowed to form a militia to fight back and overthrow a tyrannical government, since there are more armed citizens in America we already out number the military in size making it easier to fight back against a tyrannical government, even though we escaped a tyrannical government over 200 years ago doesn't mean it can't happen again.

it's the "I'm scared....but way too lazy to think through the details critically... so let's just let the State have whatever power they deem necessary to save us from ourselves" mentality that many are against....
not surprised you haven't recognized that ....

1. An assault rifle is considered a fully automatic rifle used for infantry. Most of those are already banned. In order to get one that's not banned, you need to go through an extensive background check that can take up to a year to complete, and find someone selling one. You won't find one for sale at a Walmart or sports/hunting store.
2. If by assault weapon you mean semi-automatic rifle, here are the following reasons why:
-Most gun deaths are caused by handguns.
-The .223 round (used in many semi-autos) is popular for hunting small game.
-Semi-auto rifles are fun to target practice with. Line up a bunch of big targets and shoot them one by one in quick succession! Sure, you could do that with a pistol, but rifles are more accurate.

Children like things that go 'bang, bang, bang' real fast.
