How low of a temperature can humans survive with appropriate clothing?

This is to say, without something as exotic as a sealed space suit, but as many layers of ordinary cold weather clothing as necessary. Is there any practical limit at which humans cannot reasonably function, no matter how many layers/insulation is worn?

I've been in -40'F with a windchill of close to -75F. Near zero humidity so my nose dried up and bled badly. Had to keep my goggles on or my eyes might have done the same.

At around -70 F exerted breathing will freeze your lungs.

Its a function of the rate of heat loss and the rate that heat is produced (metabolic rate).  As long as Insulation is sufficient to have a lower rate of heat loss than heat gained by metabolism, the person will do fine indefinitely.  As soon as the rate of heat loss exceeds the heat gained by metabolism, its just a matter of time before the person dies of hypothermia..
