My "friend" owes me $1,700 and hasn't paid me back, help?

Ok so before I explain, yes I'm stupid and yes I've learned my lesson.
Ok so my childhood friend whom I haven't seen for 3-4 years asks me to hang out in July. I'm like " Yea of course I haven't seen you in years". Few days later I'm getting ready to meet up and she says "change of plans I can't hang out, but can you do me a favour"? Then asks if she can borrow 1,700 for her car. And without hesitation I say yes (stupid me I know). She promised to pay me back by the end of August. Well then I messaged her at the end of August and she made the excuse that she needed money to buy textbooks. So I asked every several days after that and she made excuse after excuse. About a month ago she quit messaging me completely. She'll read my messages but won't reply. I have everything documented even when I sent the money. How would I go about suing her? I know small claims court but I'm not sure about how to do it and what to do.

Well I have no doubt that you would win the case and she'd be ordered to pay you, since you're already planning on suing her you might as well tell her, just say Maybe you can work out a payment plan and then it doesn't have to go to court, if you can't reach an agreement you have to get a copy of plaintiffs claim form, where you right a short summary of the events, and provide evidence, then you have to file the claim, in person, online, or by mail. The claim will be filed with the court and delivered to the person you are suing

Go to the court an ask how to proceed, you should sue her for the money, and yes, never lend any money to anyone ever again!

Go to the website for your city and search filing a claim in small claims court. They will lead you through it. States are different so you need to check out what your state requires.
