The internet allows people to ruin someone's life so easily?

The lack of legal regulations against users on the internet, and anonymity, allows people to essentially harass, dox, reveal private secrets, and infinite ways to destroy someone's life. Even if the other person tried to sue them, they would not be able to locate them, or find out their identity. And the perpetrator can always defend himself under the guise of free speech. He can just reveal personal facts (which are not protected under defamation claims) of people he hates by making public webpages about them online, and can easily ruin their life and employment prospects permanently. Isn't the internet great?

How can such a society as civilized as ours allow for actions as evil as doxing to fall through the legal loopholes? It's apparent those who create the laws may have not experienced the painful effects of doxing themselves.

Because white people are fragile and when they lose value, they become depressed and have nothing else to offer. So they join a political party and act like they have a reason to exist. Some go back to fishing.

Observe the "CANCEL CULTURE" that is ruining our society.

People's lives are being ruined over perceived insults and political ideology. Absolute lunacy.

You cannot dox without data.  That is why intelligent people do not spray their personal information across social media, never download 'apps' on their (usually ancient) phone and never give their cellphone number to anyone other than close friends and family.  Why?  Because any information you put on the internet including your location (which is easily available if you carry a cellphone) can, and will, be used.  Nobody can 'find out your identity' if you keep it private.

Yes, there should be laws against doxxing.  So many innocent people life's has turn up side down .  Only becasue that person feelings were hurt.

There are always three sides to ever story.  Anybody that dox someone out of revenge should serve at least a year in jail.

It’s a far cry from the cyber-utopian predictions of Leary and Barlow in the 90s.
