Why isn't Trump talking about hydroxychloroquine any more? I thought he said it was a "game changer"?

The results of the clinical trials conducted thus far are not encouraging. That said, I guess they are, as per 'anon's' link, actually conducting another trial. IMO, even the NIH is too much influenced by Trump. Nevertheless, let's hope they finally make their minds up about the stuff!

Here is a quote from my link:

"These two studies do not, in our view, support the contention that hydroxychloroquine (or, by implication, chloroquine) is effective in the management of even mild COVID-19 disease. Two more recent negative studies, albeit of poor quality, reinforce this view, as does the most recent study, an observational study designed to emulate a randomized controlled trial using real-life data."

Even with detractors doing their best to taint the product it is being used successfully world wide. Even attempts to demand diagnosis before pharma filling the Rx are being reversed in court. So there is no reason for Trump to talk about it now.

Maybe he received some additional information that caused him to rethink it. Smart people do sometimes rethink the past when additional info becomes available.

Because it has also killed people.

Trump tends to say a lot of... stuff... that a sane person has the wherewithal never to say out loud.  This is not even a matter of him being "presidential"... I am not a president, but I have the common sense not to just say things as they come into my mind.
