Why do liberals keep calling us a “Democracy”, when we are in fact, a “Constitutional Republic”? ?

We’re not a “democracy”. We are a “Constitutional Republic.”
They’re similar, and both are better than communism or fascism or totalitarianism in general (which encompasses both fascism and communism) of course, but there’s a couple key differences between democracy and a republic:1) in a constitutional republic, we have elected representatives who promote positions they support. We vote for the representatives who best reflect our values. We don’t vote personally on every single small issue, as it would take too much time in a society this complex and large. 2) in a constitutional republic, the 51% cannot vote to enslave, harm, take guns away from, kill, or steal from the 49%. There’s laws, and a Constitution, and elected representatives must only enact policies within our existing framework of the Constitution. 3) In short; in a constitutional republic, you’re protected by a Constitution of inalienable rights which can’t be taken away by elected representatives and new laws can’t be made that infringe on your constitutional rights... At least in theory, as long as everybody respects and follows the Constitution

My guess is that they call us a democracy because they want to take away our constitutional rights, using democracy/votes, and they think brainwashing people into thinking we’re a plain “democracy” is a great way to help accomplish that.

We actually are a Democracy that is turning into a dictatorship because all the current president cares about is himself and his rich friends. He promotes racism, sexism, and even wants people who oppose him arrested because he doesn't like people standing up to him (ex: the protests in Portland, Oregon, where federal officers grabbed protesters off the streets without identifying themselves and put them into unmarked vans, which counts as kidnapping.) That is something a dictator (like Putin and Kim Jong Un) allows to happen.

I'm not attacking you or trying to start a fight, I'm just letting you know the state this country is currently in, and what it will become if Trump is re-elected. He is killing whatever political system we have now, and he will make this country one of the worst countries on the planet.

You are right, although it is also a Democratic Republic (a Democracy wrapped inside of a Republic) too as the Framers wanted. Liberals, especially Progressive Liberals, want an emphasis on Democracy and less on Republic especially when it comes to the courts. They want to treat the Constitution to be treated as a "Living Document" to be subject to what judges think is fair, not Congress.

Just stop, multiple account troll. It's a distinction without a difference.  Reagan and Bush both called America a democracy. I remember. And you can see it in their speeches online. Other Republican presidents and politicians have referred to America as a democracy.  Why did this become a thing now.  Republic is from Latin. Democracy is from Greek. They both mean the same thing.  The rule of the people.  The people's thing. Just like the term commonwealth.
