Why is Yahoo suspending the comment service on their news section?
Could it be that there are far too many conservatives with differing opinions online?

That vast majority of those comments contested the content of the articles. Almost all comments to political stories called out the liberal bias so prominent in Yahoo "news". They'd best not suspend that. There are massive swaths of society who are disgusted with the misinformation and bias from the media.

Like others who have answered this question, I suspect that those being called out for the blatant bias associated with reporting standards decided to kill the messenger. I suspect that the ability to comment on “news articles” will likely reappear, coincidently, just after the general election in November...

I filled out the survey in a small effort to get them to keep the comment section.
I have never seen a comment section for yahoo news in Canada, New Zealand or Australia. If they get rid of it on the US and UK sites I will read even less of their articles.

It takes up a lot of server capacity
It cramps their style while they're collecting metadata for Big Brother
