Why is Yahoo suspending the comment service on their news section?
Could it be that there are far too many conservatives with differing opinions online?

That vast majority of those comments contested the content of the articles. Almost all comments to political stories called out the liberal bias so prominent in Yahoo "news". They'd best not suspend that. There are massive swaths of society who are disgusted with the misinformation and bias from the media.

Like others who have answered this question, I suspect that those being called out for the blatant bias associated with reporting standards decided to kill the messenger. I suspect that the ability to comment on “news articles” will likely reappear, coincidently, just after the general election in November...

Yahoo is kowtowing to the deep state. A majority of the comments were questioning the deep state / CIA propaganda and the Presstitute muppets that write the hate fest propaganda articles.
The Corporate media's main role is manufacturing consent for more wars and even more money for the military industrial complex. The presstitutes and media sock puppets never bother to do independent investigations or have someone question the deep state narrative.
Comments allowed the sane ones to push back against the hate fest propaganda and let the establishment know we aren't buying their BS.
Yahoo has all the technology it needs to filter comments for racism and threatening comments, it doesn't need to wrap us all up in cotton wool to "save us". We must push back against the tech giants attempts to kill free speech.

I filled out the survey in a small effort to get them to keep the comment section.
I have never seen a comment section for yahoo news in Canada, New Zealand or Australia. If they get rid of it on the US and UK sites I will read even less of their articles.

It takes up a lot of server capacity
It cramps their style while they're collecting metadata for Big Brother

Why does anyone need to comment on a news story anyway.
