Am I crazy about covid?

I live in a small town near Auburn, Al.  The schools gave us a choice on virtual vs in person learning for our kids and we chose virtual.   I always wear a mask when I go out.  Most of the parents at my kids school chose in person.   High school and little league football in this area is packed with spectators and kids.  Church parking lots are packed on Sundays and Wednesday nights and dine in restaurants are also packed.   Im seeing less and less people wearing masks at the grocery store.   So, am I the crazy one here for staying at home and masking up when I have to go out or is it everyone else?   When everyone around you is ignoring the pandemic, you start thinking maybe it's just me?   What do you all think?

I live in the Washington, D.C. area. Everyone here is wearing masks everywhere (except in the White House apparently). The area school systems are mostly opting for virtual learning. The health of our educators is as important as the health of our children. I think you're right and the people around you are taking big risks with their lives. But it seems that many people don't take this virus seriously unless they know someone who has become sick. Or they are rejecting masks and social distancing for political reasons. But this virus doesn't care about your political views and it is very easily transmitted. So continue to use common sense and wear your mask.
