Have seen lots of scholarships to USA - Canada etc.and in their description about the benefits of the scholarships I always notice that it says 1000 or 5000$ awards as benefits from the scholarship . What does it mean ?

Scholarships are credited toward tuition. They can be a big help in paying for your education! Also, some scholarships are very prestigious as they are very competitive, with demanding academic & other qualifications to apply for them.

That's the amount of money you get toward your education from that scholarship. If you get a $5000 scholarship, then you get $5000 toward your degree costs; if it's a renewable scholarship then you get that amount each year.
