According to Wikipedia, current pandemics include the following: COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS. If this is the case, then why does the news seem to focus so much on COVID-19 and not other types of diseases? I'm not trying to say that COVID-19 isn't serious, but don't you think the media is hyping up COVID-19 a little too much when there are other types of diseases out there, especially those that still don't have a cure or vaccine like HIV/AIDS? Here is the Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic
Many people are dying of a disease that is transmitted through the air which requires education in order to promote face masks, social distancing and hand washing.
HIV is transmitted through sex and simply using condoms has a drastic impact on transmission. At the time it was discovered there was much research and the same amount of "hype" was put in to find a treatment that prevents AIDS and death.
Right now there's still no vaccine although it is coming and no treatment comparable to the HIV treatment where the viral load goes to zero with medication when it comes to COVID.
It is because it is so virulent and deadly with a highly infectious capability. Unfortunately the younger generation are ignoring this fact and taking the virus back home to mum dad and gran. This is why it is so important to get the message across. Highly dangerous pandemic coupled with selfish lawbreakers result death.
Covid has increased the death rate in this country by about 10% and could increase it a lot more depending on how stupid people want to be. Nothing else had done anything like this since 1918.
