What's the term for when a police officer witnesses your crime and can enter your home without a warrant, because they're still in pursuit?

There's a name for this. It's a Latin word. I just can't remember what it's called.  So lets say you commit a crime, a police officer sees you, but you are able to get away. Then a short while later, they find you at your house, and can come inside and get you without an arrest warrant, because technically you're still under pursuit. There is a legal term for this. It's a Latin word. I just can't remember that word. Anybody know?

The 'Hollywood' term is 'hot pursuit'. I suspect there isn't as specific legal term.

Note: My last comment is not inconsistent with Bruce's answer. Whatever term is commonly used by police isn't necessarily a legal term.

In my state, that is called "fresh pursuit". I'm not aware of a Latin phrase. It requires the officer to be in constant contact with you, though. If time elapses, he would need a warrant or exigent circumstance.

I'm not an expert,  but I'll guess....'Probable Cause'.
