Do you think it is the end for movies theaters?

No. Once Covid has been dealt with and business open back up and people can go back to work safely, the economy is going to boom. Folks won't be able to spend their money fast enough. Including in movie theaters. In fact I'd say especially movie theaters, or places where people tend to gather en masse. Movie theaters, ball parks, shopping malls, bars and night clubs. After over a year of isolating (those smart enough to have done so, anyway) and not being able to socialize, people are chomping at the bit to get back to such things.

And they will. And how.

I think what Weasel Mcweasel said is true BUT I think people will still be able to choose if they  want to go to the theatres to get the movie experience (popcorn, annoying people talking over the movie, huge heads blocking the screen and a child in the back kicking you lol)...but now they get a CHOICE to experience what they want. Also in my town, my mall has a VIP section where they have recliners and food service (a waiter service you spirits and other snacks and food)..but you have to pay extra for those.

I love going to the movies and will always love doing so. I love the big screen and the high-definition surround sound. It's really difficult to replicate that at home.

That said, movie theaters were struggling even before the pandemic, and it's their own fault. I like being able to sit in comfort. Movie theaters have made progress in this aspect by installing recliner style seating. The other thing I like about watching movies at home is being able to drink a beer and eat a delicious burger or pizza. And this is where most movie theaters fail. They won't allow patrons to bring food or beverages from outside, effectively forcing people eat their shitty food. On top of that they charge exorbitant prices for said food. It would be one thing to spend so much money on food if it actually tasted good, but instead you're paying high prices for pizza that tastes like cardboard.

That is the reason why I don't go to movie theaters often as I would like to. They need to lower the prices or make the food better. They can't have it both ways! If movie theaters want our business, they need to give us what we want.

No.  There is something special about seeing a film on a big screen.  Before current circumstances, companies like Netflix had not stopped movie theaters from operating.
