Power Capabilities of Proposed Power Plants?

For my physics class I’m supposed to choose which is better for a power station... either a natural gas power station or a solar panel power station. I found out that the power capabilities of a Natural Gas Project is 545 MW and for the Solar Project it’s 579 MW. So does that mean that the solar panel power station be better because the number is greater?

Power plants can be designed and built for just about any capacity so in your case that is not the determining factor. It would be more about cost and impact on the environment. The gas powered plant is probably lower in cost while the solar plant is likely to be better for the environment.

"I found out" ?? both come in a wide variety of sizes, the numbers you state are far from the only ones available.

depends on how you define "better"

solar power is only when the sun is shining, so that 579 MW is only available for part of the day, and not in bad weather.

The gas unit is available 24 hr a day.

But the gas unit generates polution and increases global warming.

again, depends on how you define "better"
