You are WRONG in that it happened because the Chinese were rattling their sabers because Trump was making overtures to recognize Taiwan as an independent state... Something that no previous President has had the cajones to do out of fear of China.

China always has the goal of a weakened America in it's sights. Of course China-Joe's election coup was cause for a Chinese victory celebration.
