One of my parents was born in 1957 and the other one was born in 1963. I was born in 1996; I thought the millennial generation ended at 1995?

I’m Gen X and my kids are Gen Z. I would prefer my kids listen to me for career advice than they would to my parents (who are Boomers), because the world has changed a lot and what worked for them doesn’t work any more. That doesn’t mean they don’t have good advice about some things, just maybe not the most relevant about everything.

Gen Z is the children of Gen X. Speaking as a member of Gen X, our basic career advice is to do what makes you happy. Boomers destroyed the world, so the rest of us might as well enjoy the little time we have left.
