Medical lab technician requirement?

Hi,
I am currently a junior biology major, and was looking at what I can do after I graduate. I saw on the internet that a lot of places require an associate's degree. However, I'm currently pursuing a Bachlor's of Science in Biology. Can I still get that job with a Bachlor's?

The MLT is a licensed track associates program, so if the position requires the MLT degree/training and license, then no, you are not qualified. If they dont, you may be able to apply for some sort of lab position (generally not in a hospital which is regulated) being aware that a bio degree doesnt prepare you much for this.

The problem is that in that bachelor's degree, your first two years are filled with gen ed courses- in English, poly sci, history, etc. Those don't equip you to work in a lab like an associate's degree does.

That associate's degree degree program is training for occupational licensing. However, with a bachelor's degree in biology & excellent lab skills, you could consider continuing into post-graduate program for Medical Laboratory Technologist, a much higher qualification than a technician.
