Aidan stop being in a hurry to pick a favorite answer.
North Korea (DPRK) hates the USA because of our defense of South Korea during the Korean War. After WWII North Korea (DPRK) decided to form alliances with the USSR and the People's Republic of China (China Peking), as it was called after WWII. South Korea wanted to develop relations with the USA, UN, UK, Japan. North Korea (DPRK) invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950. To this day there is no Peace Treaty to mark the formal end of the Korean War. Only an Armistice Agreement is in place between the two Koreas.

I really don't know why you picked as a favorite answer that is full of grammatical errors and makes no sense. Do you know "gerald [sic]?"

The USA have imposed draconian sanctions because NK won't abandon their nuclear weapons program, consequently the North Koreans are desperately poor and starving.  Only China supports them with trade deals in exchange for food and essentials.

North Korea does not hate America.

Only one person in that country hates America, Kim Jong-un.

He hates virtually all countries.
