It sums up verses 18-24. Evil people sin sexually, twist the scriptures or ignore them entirely, and have idols of their own, even intangible ones: Money, Power, Beauty, Convenience, etc.

(Romans 1:25) “25 They exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.”
Within the context of this verse we find:
(Romans 1:23) “23 and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man . . .”
These verses help us to understand the doctrine of the trinity to be a lie.
As soon as they claim God 'in the flesh' they become guilty of turning God into an image of men.
The sad thing is what else Paul says of such ones.
(Romans 1:21) “21 For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their senseless hearts became darkened.”
(Romans 1:22) “22 Although claiming they were wise, they became foolish”
Trinitarians in their effort to 'prove' their faith have become 'empty-headed, senseless, in darkness and fools.

Unbelievers-they reject Jesus and his sacrificial love to follow their own appetites.

Those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the One who created. (Romans 1:22, 25
Those who venerate nature and reject God are certainly not wise from God’s viewpoint. Bogged down in the morass of conflicting evolutionary theories, they fail to recognize the Creator and the intricacy and design of his creation.
One scripture says concerning some who refuse to perceive an intelligent Creator behind the created wonders: “They became empty-headed in their reasonings and their unintelligent heart became darkened. Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish.
It is similar with evolutionary scientists, who, in effect, glorify an imaginary ascending chain of protozoa-worms-fish-amphibians, reptiles, mammals, ape-men as their creator.
They know, however, that there is no truly simple one-celled organism to start the chain. The simplest known organism contains a hundred billion atoms, with thousands of chemical reactions occurring within it simultaneously.
