Is the immigration problem at the southern US border really that bad where it needs to be addressed immediately?

Someone is telling me Biden should be focusing on the immigration problem at our southern border now that the COVID-19 relief package has been passed and shouldn’t be offering immigrants a path to citizenship because we don’t need them taking our jobs. That’s not what Biden should be focusing on, is it? I mean, he has more important issues to address first, doesn’t he?

Where people usually fail in questions like this is the assumption that the government can only do one thing at a time.
He is not giving anybody citizenship.  They are processing 600 a day from the groups who are claiming asylum.  They are being screened and allowed to wait for their application to be processed on this side of the border.  All that happens when you make people wait, they do not go home, they end up paying somebody to bring them across and then you end up with people here without documents.  Nobody knows that they are here.

Ain't it weird how the border crisis boogeyman only comes around when a D is next to the presidents name.
