Why did Ukraine's oil oligarchs at Burisma hire Hunter and pay him millions when he had no experience working in Ukraine or the oil industry?

To get connections to Joe?

Burisma paid Hunter millions from 2014 to 2019. No one is sure why they hired him when he no prior experience in the field.

So the answer is clearly that companies hired Hunter Biden because of his name connection to his father, the then VP.  But that's not illegal.  It's not illegal to hire someone for their family name.  The Trump's did that all the time.  It would only be illegal if there were some kind of improper quid pro quo between Biden, a public official, and his son.  And there's no evidence of anything like that.  In fact, Joe Biden was extremely zealous about keeping his political dealings separate from his son's business, perhaps too much so.  Biden didn't even want to warn his son off of certain politically fishy business opportunities (like Ukraine) because doing so would imply that he approved of the business opportunities that he didn't warn him about.

The name, mainly. They were being investigated for corruption and Papa Joe was anti-corruption, so they figured it was good for their image to have Huhter on the Board.

That whole Ukrainian business stinks to high heaven.

Nothing will ever come of it, though.

You'd be surprised what hanky-panky our government officials engage in overseas.
