Is it normal to cry every time I wash my face? (And I mean every single time) ?

I have sensitive skin. Very sensitive eyes. It annoys the crap out of me because all I want to do is moisturize after I wash my face but my tears keep washing it away. I’ve resorted to chapstick on my eyes because they would get so dry from crying that it would cause an eczema outbreak on my eyelids. The tears are literally uncontrollable and fall to the outer corner of my eyes, unlike other tears that well in my eyes

If you haven't been to a board-certified dermatologist (M.D. or D.O.), then please make an appointment.  Perhaps you're allergic to the soap or cleanser as someone else mentioned.  You'd also mentioned having eczema, which is supposed to be atopic dermatitis.  (It's generally recommended to *not* use bar soap on one's face as its ingredients are usually too harsh.)  Please also *stop* using anything near the eyes, including chapstick, which incidentally usually has petroleum and may get into the eyes causing injury and/or blindness.

In addition to going to a board-certified dermatologist, perhaps you may consider a gentle face cleanser, such as "cetaphil general skin cleanser" (does *not* foam as it's a cream cleanser).  Just an fyi that a cream cleanser is purportedly usually for those with dryer and/or combination skin, while the foaming cleanser is supposed to be for those with a more oily complexion.  Please, however, talk with a derm to find out how to proceed the way best for you, including the dryness to your eyes.

Stop washing your face, and instead clean with olive oil or coconut oil. Wipe on, and wipe off.  This does not clog pores, but tends to normalize them.  It moisturizes dry skin and makes oily skin less oily.  It is soothing.  And it won't wash off too quickly with tears; but hopefully, it won't even cause tears.

whatever soap you're using, YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO IT! try Dove. it's very mild. and just keep trying different soaps until you find one you like. and BTW, your skin changes every 10 years, so you have to find a different soap.

Are you crying because you get soap in your eyes? The obvious solution is to not lather around the eyes. You can clean that area just fine with warm water instead of any nonsense with Chapstick, which can clog pores.

If you wear makeup, remove it first with a product designed for that, then use warm water on a washcloth to clean any that remains around your eyes. (If you wear mascara, a dark-colored washcloth is recommended.) Then wash your face, avoiding the eye area completely. Pat dry, moisturize, done.
