Does the Republican party contradict real conservatism?
Conservative means limited government, less taxes, less spending, balanced budgets, individual liberty, preserving state Rights and not Feds and supporting the middle class. The Establishment Republicans aka Neocons are for endless wars in the Middle East, military adventurism and nation building that is hurting the Middle class raising gas and oil prices, spending $trillions out of our tax money, and Republicans want to "bomb bomb bomb Iran." Support the War on Drugs that is wasting taxpayer money on keep a lot of non violent drug users in jail, and infringing on civil liberties and violating the 10th amendment. The Republicans under George Bush given us the Patriot Act that dissolved our constitution by allowing government to spy on Americans, search without warrants, and detention without trial. Aren't all of these against conservative principles?. Ronald Reagan said the heart of conservatism is Libertariansim.
