There was also an excess of over 400,000 deaths in 2020 (3.2 million vs 2.8 million in 2019) even though covid deaths were reported at 350,000 in 2019 according to the CDC

Most of them died “with” Covid, which means they were counted as a Covid death even if they died of other unrelated medical conditions.
