Why does JW celebrate March 27th as Jesus Christ’s death this year?

TeeM2021-03-27T13:38:11Z

Christ died on Nisan 14th.  Which corresponds to the Jewish Passover.

Jesus is called the Passover Lamb, who takes sins away.

Jesus on Nisan 14th commanded us to continue doing this when he instituted the Lord's Evening Meal.

Jehovah's Witnesses calculate this date using the Biblical method and not the 'secular' calendar used by the Jews today.

According to the Biblical Jewish calendar, Nisan 14th falls on Saturday, March 27th after sundown.

Because they aren't Christian.

Why not. It is as good of a guess as any guests could be.

JWs don't celebrate Easter.

They have their own
oddball
method of calculating Hebrew calendar dates
which on occasion corresponds to the actual Hebrew calendar dates.

They celebrate the "Memorial" on the date that THEY calculate as Nisan 14.
(Nisan 14 in the Hebrew calendar is the first day of Passover, beginning at sundown, which according to the Bible was the day of the Last Supper).

This year
their oddball method
has coincided with the actual Hebrew calendar.

SO: it's because March 27, 2021 is
by their calculation
Nisan 14 in the Hebrew calendar
and Nisan 14 in the Hebrew calendar
is the first day of Passover
and the first day of Passover
was when the Last Supper was held in the Bible.
