Covid 19 doesn't cause colds, it can cause cold / flu like symptoms. What causes the common cold is a different virus from covid 19.
There have been some drugs developed to treat covid, but some weren't successful There are vaccines for covid but they're not 100 percent effective.
Vaccines / drugs have to recognize the virus and so some thing to kill it. That can be tricky to do, specially with a complex looking virus like covid 19.

Try to find a chart of hospitalizations in Maryland. I can't find it but I'm interested in seeing it. Maryland has embraced the Regeneron & Eli Lily antibody therapy.
There are anti-inflammatories.
Some people are still using HCQ and the recent studies don't totally discount it.
We also don't know about vitamin D. But anyone who is not supplementing with vitamin D3 is not being very smart.

There are many drugs used in the treatment of COVID-19. Some have been more successful than others. But viruses are hard to treat- that's why we all continue to get colds. Yes, scientists are working on treatments. For now, the best thing is to get vaccinated.
