Is it ok to let your young son destroy things?   ?

My neighbor gets things for her 7 yr old son to destroy in their backing yard...usually with a metal bat. And the noise is very annoying!!

Wait, do we share the same neighbor?! It's awful. This kid has a metal pole. Or a stick. Or throws rocks at our house/fence. Don't get me wrong, kids are great. Screaming bat/pole/stick wielding kids... Not so great. I've found that going outside & pulling up a patio chair to settle in with a book in full view of them, waving to them when they look my way is an instant remedy to send them running off to other places to play. Never underestimate the power of stranger danger.

Lousy parents raise lousy kids

Actually - I don't see a problem.  If the things are INTENDED to be destroyed, then there is nothing wrong with it.

As for the noise, most cities have rules about when certain levels of noise is acceptable or not.  If this destruction is happening during reasonable hours of the day, you can't even make a complaint about the noise.
